Teesside’s Wells CRS have celebrated significant growth in recent years by giving all aspects of the business a central headquarters for the first time.
The reputable commercial refurbishment specialists, led by co-owners Garry Wells and David Murphy, are the first occupants of one of the new hybrid units created at Mandale Park, Middlesbrough.
It is an exciting step for Wells who are now pleased to be able to use the two-storey light industrial Unit 6 created by Mandale Group for both office space and storage on the business park – having previously had to use separate sites.
David said: “It is the first time we have moved everything under one roof. We are now in greater control because everything is closer to hand. It is easier to stock take, control man hours and communicate with the workforce.
“This is in line with our employment growth and vehicle expansion, a spin-off from the new contracts locally and nationally we have won; this new base ticks all the boxes.”
Wells CRS has moved to Mandale Park after outgrowing office space at Victoria House in the centre of Middlesbrough. Prior to that the business had a year on the Preston Farm Industrial Estate shortly after David teamed up with Garry in 2019.
Throughout that time Wells have had a storage and lock-up container, so there is a huge satisfaction that tools and equipment can now be stored safely in an 800sq ft space underneath the new 750sq ft office.
The ground floor is accessed by way of a personnel door and an electric roller shutter, allowing for quick and simple loading of goods that Wells use across the country.
Garry said: “We are really pleased. These hybrid units are using all the correct energy products, so they are also helping us reduce our carbon footprint.
“What’s been nice is that we planned our own work schedules around this move, enabling us to bring in our own team to put our stamp on the interior of the place.
“We have had our own electricians, joiners and painters in. They have quickly made it feel like home by adding a new boardroom with a bespoke fully-glazed partition, added electrics to suit our needs and decorated. We have also introduced a CCTV and security system.”
Wells have previously carried out works for the Mandale Group and have built up a strong relationship with Joe Darragh, the Group’s estate director, during that time.
Joe said: “It has been great to deal with Wells CRS. We agreed a deal with Garry to move into Mandale Park, located in Cannon Park, and it’s not the first deal I have done with him.
“We have an estate at Belmont, Durham, with over 100 units. Wells specialise in fit-outs, so we recommended them to many of our ingoing tenants. Wells carried out some fantastic fit-outs at an affordable level. The feedback we received was fantastic.”
Garry added: “I’ve known Joe for many years and he has always delivered exceptional business/commercial properties.
“The quality of our new hybrid unit is nothing of a surprise to us. The build is exceptional and it’s nice to be moving into a site owned by Mandale Group, who we have delivered many refurbishments for over the years.”
This is in line with our employment growth and vehicle expansion, a spin-off from the new contracts locally and nationally we have won; this new base ticks all the boxes.
