An established civil engineering company has made four key appointments as part of their ambitious progression plans.
Seymour Civil Engineering, based in Hartlepool, has strengthened its leadership team with the quartet specifically to take the business further forward in its targeted markets.
Simon Reed and Lisa Molloy have both been appointed by Seymour as Water Director and Commercial Manager, respectively speaking.
Victoria Drummond has returned as Contracts Manager and follows the internal promotion of Marcus Swinburn also as a Contracts Manager after eight years with the company.
The strategic moves highlight Seymour’s desire to expand further within a number of key sectors it operates, including water, highways, industrial and energy.
Simon’s appointment is in preparation of the Water Industry’s eighth asset management period (AMP8) and he brings a wealth of water related knowledge and expertise.
He said: “Water is an essential part of our daily lives and is at the forefront of environmental, social, and political thoughts.
“The water sector is a central focus of our long-term strategy and growth plan; with the next five-year investment period, AMP8, providing the biggest opportunity to facilitate this growth.
“I’m excited to have joined the Seymour Civil Engineering team at this exciting time for the business, helping to build on our long-established reputation within the UK Water Market and leading our drive to achieve our vision to be the ‘leading water sector specialist’ for our chosen key clients.”
Lisa has an extensive knowledge of the UK construction market and is well known across the industry as a key speaker and author of Molly in Construction; a book written to inspire the next generation as an advocate of women in the industry.
Lisa, who also sits on the RICS and CICES boards, said: “I am delighted to be joining Team Seymour where the values and ethos resonate strongly with my own and has a great positive culture.
“It is an exciting time at Seymour and I am looking forward to being part of their leadership team as we drive the business forward together, providing mentorship to the commercial department and support to both the commercial and operational staff.”
Victoria is hugely supportive of promoting women in construction too having spent more than 15 years delivering within a number of different markets and predominantly within the highways and water sectors. And Marcus, boasting 30 years of experience in the industry, has worked his way up as Site Manager, Project Manager and now Contracts Manager, demonstrating how Seymour organically grows and invests in its people.
Seymour, which recently celebrated planning approval to further develop its Seymour Skills Academy in Brenda Road, Hartlepool, has had an exceptional 12 months and has seen a string of success from winning a number of regional and national accolades from People Development through to Going the Extra Mile and Project of the Years, most notably for the works at Elephant Rock delivered on behalf of Hartlepool Borough Council.
Adam Harker, Seymour Managing Director, said: “An essential aspect of our progress has been the reinforcement of our leadership team, achieved through a combination of internal growth and external recruitment. I am absolutely delighted by the significant additions of Simon, Lisa, Marcus, and Victoria to our team, as their expertise aligns perfectly with our strategic goals and culture. Their contributions will be pivotal as we propel the business towards further success.”
